Shield
Ultramarine blue and golden orange the colors used for Aviation units. The winged centaur suggests the combination of men and machine which is embodied in the armed helicopter. The crescent denotes day and night operations.
Crest
The palm fronds, with six leaves on each stem, symbolize the twelve decorations awarded to the Regiment. The position of the double-head broad arrows represents helicopter propellers and the helicopter aviation support provided during war and peacetime duties by the unit. Each red arrow denotes distinction, indicating the Regiments campaign participation in Southwest Asia, War on Terrorism, Iraq and the Armed Forces Expeditions. The disc displaying the compass rose, adapted from the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, further conveys the global direction of their past missions.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 160th Aviation Battalion on 5 March 1982. It was cancelled on 8 April 1987. It was reinstated and redesignated for the 160th Aviation Regiment effective 16 January 1988. The insignia was amended to correct the blazon on 22 September 1992. It was amended to include a crest on 7 February 2014.
